ARRIVING IN OUR UNIT

Arriving in our unit you will be triaged according to the following scores to ascertain the level and timing of care you need

Report to Reception and indicate that you require Emergency services. You will then be referred to the Triage Nurse who will assess you. This will determine the urgency of your condition.

You will be prioritised in one of the following Triage colours:

EMERGENCY

A Life-Threatening Medical and/or Trauma condition. Must be assisted immediately

VERY URGENT

An Urgent Medical and/or Trauma condition. Will be assisted after Red patients have been stabilised

URGENT

A Serious Medical and/or Trauma condition. Will be assisted after Red and Orange patients have been stabilised

Routine / Follow Up

Will be assisted as soon as possible, after Red, Orange and Yellow Patients have been stabilised

After you have been triaged, you or a family member, MediECInc and the Hospital will assist to open a file.

The Doctor will assess you as soon as possible.

This will done according to your Triage Priority (Red, Orange, Yellow or Green)

You might have to wait longer during peak times.

After the Doctor Assessment, the patient will be treated accordingly, which may include special investigations in lieu of pathology and radiology or other Allied Health Services.

The treating Doctor will then formulate a treatment plan which may include discharge, admission or transfer to another appropriate facility for a higher level of care.

FEES FOR VISITING THE EMERGENCY UNIT

Facility Fee: The fee that the hospital charges for consumables used during treatment.

Doctors Fee: MediECinc is a separate entity from the hospital. This fee will consist of a consultation fee and a fee for any additional procedures embarked upon while in the care of your emergency doctor.

All additional services are offered by separate practices and as such they will issue separate invoices including but not limited to Radiology, Laboratory Services, Orthotics and Prosthetics, Physiotherapists or Specialist Consultations and Allied Health Services.

Facility Fee: The fee that the hospital charges for consumables used during treatment.

Doctors Fee: MediECinc is a separate entity. This fee will consist of consultation and ANY additional procedures performed by the attending Doctor.

All additional services are offered by separate practices and as such they will issue separate invoices EG: Radiology, Laboratory Services, Orthotics and Prosthetics, Physiotherapists or ANY Specialist Consultations and Other Allied Health Services.
